Without certain physical characteristics, we would not be able to imagine some animals, such as giraffes with their long necks or octopuses with their tentacles.
This explains why Nelson the hedgehog is such an unusual member of his species: for reasons completely unknown, he was born without needles!
He’s a bald hedgehog.
Unfortunately, he will never be able to survive in the wild as he has no natural defences.
A spokesperson for the Wildlife Trust admits: “Nelson is a big mystery to us. It’s amazing that he has survived this long.
Nelson seems to be in good shape, but he lives in paradise because he gets regular oil massages! His owner thinks no one will ever understand why he doesn’t even have needles.”
Without a doubt, Nelson is the most unique hedgehog you’ll ever see, even if he’s not as cute as other hedgehogs you’ve seen.
