Contrary to popular belief, electricity was actually a concept that existed centuries before the appearance of glass insulators for old telephones. The first recorded ideas about electricity date back to 600 BC, in ancient Greece, when static electricity was discovered. This discovery paved the way for brilliant minds to eventually invent electric telegraphs. However, glass insulators for telephones hadn’t been invented for thousands of years.
