This is how much money the ‘Friends’ cast still earns today

Despite the fact that it has been 19 years since the final episode aired, the cast is still said to make about $20 million annually from reruns alone. That’s because, according to The Independent, they receive 2% of the show’s syndication income. Furthermore, it has been reported that Netflix paid between $80-$100 million to maintain the show on its platform until 2019.

All of the Friends characters were iconic in their own unique ways. The most notable change made by Aniston’s character Rachel during the program was her transformation into a Bloomingdale’s fashionista.

Additionally, Friends had a huge cultural impact. Rachel’s hairstyle became very fashionable, the theme song was played on repeat on the radio, and everyone tried to deliver a punchline exactly like Chandler Bing.

In addition to becoming well-known, Jennifer Aniston’s role as Rachel Green on Friends brought her a 2002 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series.

She was also honored with a Golden Globe in 2003 for Best Performance by an Actress in a Comedy or Musical Television Series.

While Jennifer Aniston did achieve global fame, what mattered most was that she made five lifelong friends.

“We really did have so much fun together,” she explained.

Emotional reunion

“I remember that was one of the things when we were young and dumb and renegotiating, one of the [studio’s] threats was, ‘Well, we don’t need all six of you. We can do this with four of you.’ We were like, ‘What? You can? You can get rid of Rachel or Joey or who?’ Then it was like, ‘No they can’t, wake up.’”

The six cast members came together for the HBO Special Friends: The Reunion last year. Emotions were running high, even though the cast members and fans thought it was a memorable night. Several times, Jennifer Aniston had to leave the set because things got too personal.

“I think we were just so naive walking into it, thinking, ‘How fun is this going to be? They’re putting the sets back together, exactly as they were.’ Then you get there, and it’s like, ‘Oh right, I hadn’t thought about what was going on the last time I was actually here,’” Aniston explained.

“And it just took me by surprise because it was like, ‘Hi, past, remember me? Remember how that sucked? You thought everything was in front of you and life was going to be just gorgeous, and then you went through maybe the hardest time in your life?’”

“It was all very jarring, and, of course, you’ve got cameras everywhere, and I’m already a little emotionally accessible, I guess you could say, so I had to walk out at certain points,” she added. I don’t know how they cut around it.”
